Anyone use one of these wheels? Is the dish too deep?

I used to find the Prototipo quite good looking. Perhaps a bit old style. I think they started a nother batch. I like the Monte Carlo too. Cheap and offering great handling.

I've had 2 of them, love em. Offhand, I thought the last run of those were NLA. Did you find more?

VAC sells them, at least they are listed on their web site.

So you guys didn't find the dish too deep?

Yea, I see that. I was wondering about the dish and if it makes it too close. They give specs on many wheels but they don't give the ammount of dish on the prototipo. It wouldn't be too bad if it was something like an inch from the centerline of the rim of the wheel.

I just returned a Luisi Wheel that had a very slight dish. It was nice but it didn't fit my Momo hub as advertised and it was supposed to be suade and it wasn't.

I happen to have on laying around my office! Too lazy to put it on Flea bay. Didnt' really know what it was worth. But here is a pic to show the relative depth. I would say about 1" from the flat of the horn circle to the edge of the rim.

I had it on the car when I first got it and don't remember it being too stuck out. I changed to a BMW turbo wheel because I like the bigger (380mm?) diameter. The Momo was just a bit too small for my taste especially with 205/50/15's up front.

Any idea what this is worth before I put it up for sale?

I prefer the 350mm Momo Monte Carlo. It's has a better/more comfortable grip for your hands at 9 & 3. Check eBay for pricing...

Does that include the hub adapter?

That price doesn't include the hub. I have a hub and horn button so I wouldn't need those.

Here is a pic of a Prototipo that I have. I lucked out and "stole" it off fleabay on "Buy-it-now" for $75, including hub. I even got it locally and had no shipping cost. I've seen these sell for around $300 for just the wheel, especially if associated with Porsches.

This wheel is one from the late 60s or early 70s. It has no dish to it. It is 320mm in diameter and the leather grip is 30mm in diameter. I find this wheel to be too small in overall diameterl for an 02 and as well, the leather grip feels too small in diameter for the weight and size of a car like an 02. I reallly like the way it feels. I am going to use my Prototipo on a 59 Fiat I have. Maybe the later Prototipos were sized differently?

I have another Momo wheel, a "C35" that is 345mm in diameter and the leather grip is 33mm in diameter. This seems to be a better "fit" for an 02.

We were the folks who had MOMO make the silver Prototipo for us - but I belive they are all gone now. I have a few that I'm selling from my personal stash for $350, but I don't expect those to last very long at all...
