If they came with the electronic engine controls and if you could figure out the formula and mix the fuel you could have some fun. Rumor has it that the computers were all leased from BMW and were recalled and crushed years ago.

I visit Pelican for 911 stuff, their forum for older BMWs isn't very active but the 911 one is probably the busiest forum I use!

These are the Holy Grail! I heard about this auction thru a Porsche fanatic at my work....I didn't know the lot had M12's!

I admittedly know almost nothing about these engines, so if someone can educate me, I'm all ears.

With respect to the Porsche engine auction - the six Porsche engines fetched well over $1M at the auction - these were originally part of that lot, but are now owned by me. I'm interested in selling at least two of them, keeping one remaining one for our showroom, and one for "possible future endevours." :)
