Hello, I noticed that sometimes when I'm in mid turn and hit a bump I get a loud sound like a bushing is loose or something. Is there anything I can spray on the rubber parts or anything I can tighten or address to keep it from making occasional noises going over bumps while turning. I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem/noise. Thanks.

could be ball joint. i'm on the verge of replacing mine. you can jack up the front end and grab a tire on 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock position and wiggle it to see if there is play. check tie rods also.

sorts of things to check:

1. Sway bar link and mount bushings

2. lower control arm bushings

3. Upper strut mounts

4. center track rod

5. Idler arm bushings

6. front wheel bearings

That'll get you started. Bad thing about such a noice is that it could be something fairly benign, like a loose swaybar link or it could be something really scary that's about to let go at an inopportune moment and cause you to lose control of the car. Not trying to scare you, but you really need to track this down at least to assure yourself that one of those 30+ year old components isn't flirting with failure/disaster...

cheers and good luck

Not as likely as what Mike suggests, but, if the spacers, washers in the strut bearing are not in the proper order a popping sound will result.

Also a loosely adjusted steering box can provide you a pop also.
