removing 76' 2002 taillights from wiring harnesss

I am prepping my car for paint and don't seem to be able to release the wiring harness from the taillights. I know there must be some trick to removing them and I don't want to force anything. Help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Try spraying a little WD40 around the plug, wait a while, then you should be able to wiggle it out. It just pulls straight out of the back of the light assembly.

just pull it out! you should be able to squirt some w/d 40 on the front side where the wires connect to the housing, when you put it back you can use dielectric grease on the contacts to prevent it from happening again. hope this helps
