Golden Gate Chapter of bmwcca had their first event of the season last sunday at sunny Marina Airport.

Someone took a couple pictures of me punting a couple cones.

A total of 5 2002s showed up and 4 actually raced.

Nice. Who set the fastest 2002 times and how did they compare to the times of the other bmw platforms?

Also, who's green 2002 is that? I got a Q' about his wheel fitment.

The green '02 belongs to Alex. he should be somewhere around here. That was his first autocross. I actually sold him the wheels a few years ago. they are 320 wheels that were tut and widened just for the 2002. They are either 7 or 8 inches wide. I don't remember right now.

If i didn't hit any cones on my last run i think i ended up second over all, 0.2s behind Ken Garcias Red e30. Best scratch time belonged to Gary Richardson in a black 400hp e36 m3, but he coned on every run. (results listed are unofficial)

I was surprised to see how many 02's were there. Someone was running a 74-76 malaga, I thought to myself nice looking car!!

Can't wait to bring out my reincarnation 02..

Hey Steve,

I was going to bring the mini to the shoot-out last year. But I burned a valve just before that weekend.

I won't be able to think about marina until after next month. Maybe in May the mini will make its debut.

But my goal is to get the tii back on the road and back into the thick of it all, that won't happen till June at the soonest.

We'll be in the area the weekend SCCA has an event, April 16, you going? We'll probably stop by and check it out.
