Anyone using these tires please let me know if they are any good...supposedly the tire I was quoted for @ $35.00 is an all season tire.

Thanks

Never even heard of Remington tires. 185/70 x 13 tires aren't available in many brands these days. I thoroughly researched this last year and ended up buying Yokohama Avid T4 performance radials. They are very nice tires, and are only about $40 each from Tire Rack (www.tirerack.com).

I always do it right the second time.

I got my Ziex 512's for 36 bucks each from vulcantire.com they are great tires. I drive my car pretty hard and these are really sticky and an absolute blast in the rain.

For a buck more you get a lot more tire then remingtons.

If more power is better then way too much is just enough.

I'm looking for 13's also. I see the falkens are 185-60. The Yokohamas only come in 70 profile for 13's. Is there any downside with going to the 60 profile? I know the diameter is smaller, but I was thinking they'd be better because they're wider, and thus have more rubber on the road. Also, I've never ordered tires online. What do you do, have them shipped, then take them to a local tire dealer for installation?

Thanks!

Let me check in my morning. only draw back I have found is the falkens have a reasonably soft sidewall. I only noticed that when out on the skidpad and driving the car at 11/10ths of its limit. I have very minimal rubbing and only have fouled the fender edge once bumping into my driveway at speed. They are a really really nice tire for the money and blow anything else for that kind of cash outside of the water.

Sumitomo also makes a nice 185/60 x 13. If you go to the Tire Rack web site, you can search by either size or brand, so you should be able to find all options. Yes, you order them on line, and on their web site they have a list of preferred installers in your city. For me in Seattle, the installer was across the street from my office (very convenient). Tire Rack then ships the tires directly to the installer (also very convenient). From time of order to arrival was only about 2 days. Then, you just schedule an appointment for installation. Even with the shipping cost, buying from Tire Rack was about $40-$50 dollars cheaper (for a set of 4, mounted and balanced with new rubber valve stems) than the best price I could get by buying the tires locally.

Thanks Stu,

I'll go ahead and give Tire Rack a try, I see they're also a sponsor of this website. Are you happy with the 185 60 13's? Is that the optimum tire size for 13 inch wheels?

Personally, I think 185/70 x 13 are the right size; that's what I have on my car. Also, I think I made a mistake on the Sumitomos; they're 195/60 x 13, not 185. I saw a set on a car a couple of months ago and they looked great.
