I should have replaced my oil drain plug many changes ago, but...

Its rounded off, channel locks, pipe wrenches, lock tite wrenches, will not turn it. What do I do? drill it & use a what to get it out?

Any Ideas?

Get a topsider oil changer. Been using mine on my 540 and 02 with great success.

See if you can make some nice sharp corners. Clean off all the slippery stuff and then go at it again with boxed end wrench if you can get it fit snug.

Stupid question: you turning it the correct way? (lefty loosey - righty tighty)

or should I say on the bottom. A welding shop or sometime mechanics have access to a mig welder, it takes about 10 min max, should be just a six pack charge

You know, it would have taken me at least 3 beers to come up with that solution.

in so damned tight and always use a new crush washer w/ it. Might want to replace it w/ a plug w/ a magnet in the center. Mine always comes out w/ miniscule particles attached.

excellent idea! but then TORCH the original bolt. It will expand inside the pan (breaking the rust/etc. bond) and then contract when you hit it with brake cleaner (rapid evaporation).... if that doesnt work try heating the pan... carefully! doesnt need to glow ;)

edit: actually, the welding process will torch the bolt pretty good by itself!! :) (another DUH moment brought to you by rob ;))

That bolt out looks like a good idea. Be careful if you decide to use vise grips as you don't want to gouge the area where the drain bolts to the pan, you won't have an even seal and will need to use an o-ring along with the washer that's with the new drain bolt. I'd say the bolt out or the welding idea.

hope you get it off

If you don't want to weld you can try cutting a groove into it on the edge (using a demel or air tool cutter) and then fit a flat bar into the groove and wack it with a hammer in the 'unscrew' direction.
