Tii Alternator-help

Broken bolt on alt bracket at threaded section.( long thru bolt ) Cannot seem to dislodge bolt from bracket. had to remove the bracket with the alt still attached. Seems unusually tight. Ok to wail on the bolt to remove it? Or is that a bad idea?

I don't see why you can't wail on it. Worst case you accidentally pound the alternator with the hammer and have to buy a new one--they're not *that* expensive.

Thanks, I'll give it a try if it seems too risky to pound out the bolt

i had to do that to one of my alt. bolts that required persuasion. just a quick tap with the air hammer, using the tapered bit, and it loosened enough to take it out with a socket.
