Im going to put in some new valve seals this weekend, and I have been looking at bavauto parts. I plan on doing the guides and seals. If you look at their website they have both new and old style seals. Is one better for a 76? I will need 8 of those and 8 guides.

New valve seals will not cure smoking from loose valve guides. If you have old style guides, then get old style seals. But if your head smokes, then pop it out and change the guides for new guides, check if valve are still within radial play specs or also get new valves, cut and lap the valves seats.

Very often, only changing seals is like applying bondo on rust.
