I really like this guys shifter and would like to implement something very similar in my m2 I am building, What boot is that and where would I find a nice billet shaft that the shift handle screws onto, (I have to describe because I cannot remember the correct term) I love this setup.

That looks like a UUC shost shifter. The shift know has to be attached with set screw to it. And i think the boot is for the early models with short center console.

Actually that could be any late model shift lever uuc or not. if it is any press on knob could be used. like steve said though, thats just a stock early rubber boot

Second that. Stock modern shifter (perhaps even Z4 3.0 litre) and regular early rubber boot.
