I was doing some searching on head removal and engine rebuilds and found your post back in 02 or 03 where you did a rebuild and took tons of photos. That was extremely helpful! what did you use to clean the carbon from the pistons and clean the head with?

I think i used a drill with abrasive disks that can be purchased in most Automotive stores. I found mine in Kragen in body work section and our Orchard Supply had them too. They are not like sand paper, but a bit soft.
