more 32/36 DGV questions....

I now need a new base gasket for the carb. Is one available seperatly from the rebuild kit or do I need to buy another kit? What about the make-a-gasket stuff, will that work?

Another question, where can I find a new manual choke cable to fit the 32/36? I need about another 6 inches to make the current one work. Will a bicycle brake cable work? I think the bike cable will not be strong enought to push the choke back in once engaged.

You should be able to find one at a "foreign parts shop" or "VW shop" or trace one out on gasket material. Or order on online from JAMeng or Piercemanifolds.

I think the forma a gasket would also be willing to form a gasket in your jets, etc. For Weber parts try www.piercemainfolds.com. it's Weber Candyland.

For the base gasket, any import parts store should have a few of the gasket alone. Even normal parts stores might have them...

If not, just get some gasket material and cut your own.

For the choke cable, just look in the 'Help!' section of any parts store where they have the miscellaneous window handles and other such parts that fall off old cars, and they have a universal choke cable that works just fine.

thanks for the ideas!! the gasket material was easy to find. I need to get the weber 32/36 working properly before I install the manual choke cable.
