misaligned manifold studs?

Hey Gang,

Finally piecing together my efi conversion with the one piece manifold, and the TWM throttle bodies. Thought things would go smoothly...

We found out that the studs on the one piece manifold weren't perpendicular to the casting- has anybody had this happen before? The TWM throttle bodies luckily allow for some slop, but the weber castings don't. This might have been the reason why my first set cracked at the mounting flange.

I'm wondering if this is the case with my current DCOE's and the cannon 2 piece manifolds. I'm going to take it apart soon enough and resurface them, and check for straightness. Now I'm thinking of redrilling/tapping the holes on a mill to assure straightness. This is probably causing my casings to warp, and that shaft to bend. I hope.

Has anybody had this much bad luck with their cannons?

the vgs intake bolts right up to my side draft carbs with no problems. it may be just a bent stud.

Hey Dave,

Yeah, I didnt get a chance to check it out-- I immedietly sent it to my buddy at TWM to install the throttle bodies. He mentioned this issue- but I'm not sure if he took the stud out and rolled it to see if its bent.
