Hi,

My car was dead in the morning. It appeard that I may have depressed the emergency flasher switch the night before and left it on all night. I charged the battery for 2 days (fully charged) and reinstalled it in the car. I am getting no power to anything except the solenoid. There is no electricity flowing to anything else. Where does electricity run from the battery besides the solenoid? What else can I test? If the solenoid was bad would that cause there to be no electricity flowing to the rest of the car? Please help, I cannot figure it out. Also, when checking to see if power was flowing to the alternator all three wires pulled apart from the 3 pronged plug which plugs into the alternator. The three wires are colored from the solenoid and they were crimped onto three wires which came with the alternator and the 3 pronged plug. Does it matter how I connect the three wires to the 3 pronged plug? Are either of them negative or positive? I didnt pay attention when they pulled apart and I recrimped them back together not as they were pulled apart.

Regards,

David

Thanks,

David

the alt. plug. The brown wire goes to D-, the black wire goes to DF, and the blue wire goes to D+. While you're there, make sure the alt has a ground wire to one of the bolts on the timing chain cover from the upper, inner lug on the back of the alt.

Hi,

this is a common problem.

go back to the positive connection of the battery

and inspect and or replace FULLY the heavy gauge

wire that comes off the nose panel and goes to the

positive terminal connector. it is RED.when this

connectionis lost NO power will flow anywhere else.

this connection goes to the main harness point for

power distribution and to the key switch.

good luck

the main wire goes from the positive terminal to the starter.

the heavy gauge wire comes off the nose panel

and connects onto the positive terminal of the battery cable.

either with an eylet type connector or some other

clamping connector that goes under the tightening bolt for

the positive terminal at the battery.

good luck
