tires and wheels how big of wheels can you get on an '02???

i would like to get bigger wheels on my 74 2002. right now i have 320i 13s on. today i swaped 2 for 2 wheels with my dads mini cooper s JCW (17 inchers) and they bearly if not didnt fit.

Most people will stick 15 x 7" wheels, no bigger. The flexi chassis will npot like it. Tire size will depend on wheel offset and if you run flares. A common offset is 25 to 30mm with 195.50.15 tires.

Of course, this is a very heavily modified example, but you didn't specify. I would say no larger than 15" for practical purposes.

sky's more or less the limit if you're willing to cut and add flares of one sort of another.

If you want to keep the body stock or near stock (nothing more extensive than rolled fender lips) and use stock struts and trailing arms, the max is about 15x7 et 35 in back and 15x6 et 30-33 in front (depending on tire size, you may still run into tire-fender lip interference issues).
