what kind of oil and how do i know how much to put in? is there a teeny tiny dipstick? :D

There's some info in the archives, it's hypoid oil but there are specifics I do not know as I've yet to try and change it. Many people find it has never been changed!

Hypoid 90 is the usual. You just pry off that red plastic plug (carefully) and look inside to see how much is in there.

Just fill it up to the top -- if it is low you'll be surprised at the difference in steering feel

so clean you can eat off of it BEFORE you remove the cap. Hope it is not too late.....

Also if it was low, you may discover the input seal may be bad and start leaking now that the fluid is above the seal.

Most gear oil is hypoided. You can also run this oil in your diff but your gear box takes non hypoided oil.

Wouldnt it be wise to remove the old fluid first before adding new fliud to the steering box?
