Not to serious...

But.

Wondering if a fellow FAQuer will give me the skinny on normal cooling system activity.

More specifically the pressure I should expect the hoses to be under. Just replaced the 1in hose connecting the h2o pump to intake mani. Seems like the block rubbed the old one thin enough to burst.

Inserted new hose. Filled and burped a few times. Cooling guage reads normal after 20min of ideling.

But noticed that the hoses were not underthe same pressure as normal?

Usually the hose to the top of the RAD is firm to the touch. When I take th e cap off I recieve plenty a hiss.

Not now.

Now - new hose installed - seems that the coolant is foaming a bit as well? Not the same pressure as before.

Is my Tstat staying open?

I'm going for a drive...hoping not to overheat.

I truly do appreciate any help.

TIA my brothers.

did you carefully bleed your coolong system?

and leaks, and the thermostat has no direct effect. If the air is bled out, the pressure should be the same as before. If it's too low, look for leaks; if no leaks, replace the cap. If it's too high, replace the cap.
