Well my driver side door lock finally froze. Actually, the key is still stuck in there but thats a whole 'nother story. Anyway, I want to get two new door locks, made to match my ignition key (currently they dont). Is there anyway I can do this?

Could I maybe give a shop my spare and have them make two matching locks? Any help would be much appreciated.

Also, once I rip off my door panels do I need new clips or can I reuse the old ones (I am waiting to get all new panels).

and it has overridden the little lever that works the latch mechanism which causes the door to lock and unlock. It's now jammed and you're gonna break the key off if you try to force it back over the latching lever.

You'll have to remove the door's upholstery panel and then unscrew the latch mechanism from the door to free it up. Look at how the linkage works and you'll see what you did to jam it; don't do that again. While you have everything apart, clean/relubricate the latch mechanism and check the door's innards for rust along the bottom.

Cheers

Beleive me, it wasnt me who jammed the key. It was the valet guy at my parking garage (I live in San Francisco). It was fading anyway which didnt help.

Does anyone have any idea where to get new locks matched to a key? Is that even possible?

I found this on BavAuto's site... anyone know what it is? They call it a "Door Latch Buffer". Where does it go exactly?

it goes on the end of the latch on the inside edge of your door. makes the doors close real nice
