I got to thinking about this due to the set Delia just won on eBay and seeing her vintage picture of her '68 or '69 with the little white flaps front and rear. What did you use then?

And for today, I think there have been fits and starts in this direction, but has anyone ever looked into reproducing the '02 mudflaps? BMW'd never be keen on putting the roundel on 'em (either the add-on plastic variety or the printed type), but even plain black ones would be nice. Can't be too hard a thing to reproduce, considering it's just cotton-reinforced black rubber with bent sheet-metal brackets. One decent set of masters and one could probably make a mold pretty easily.

I'd like to have a spare set for when mine finally give up the ghost. If I had to guess, there'd probably be enough interest to sell at least 15-20 pair, assuming the price was reasonable (say, less than $40 a pair).

Anyone have thoughts on this one? And no, I haven't yet seen any small rubber-casting places here. And I can't speak the language to make a deal anyway.

I was about to ask you to have some made for us...

Anyway, I have a set on my Z4 and they work as advertised. I "need" a set on my 2002. Because, they are very functional, I am told.

Yes, if you can find some who can reproduce let us know.

From time to time someone has offered, but has not followed through.

I'd love to see the late style printed roundel like I have on my '76.

So yes, I'd be in for a set (or two). I really need a set for my '74 tii.

I missed the auction, and I want them too, but with the BMW roundel. they are so cool. Al PS, I think they would be worth more.
