My car's headlights are weak. I also have some bumper-mounted 'brights' that a PO put on. I was thinking about taking these off and going back to a conventional low-beam/high-beam style modern headlight system. I'd like to get more lumination, but I don't want xenons or something like that.

any recommendations for a good set of headlights to replace the old? Are all these things on ebay worth considering?

i can see they are different but can you explain the difference over say an aftermarket h4 lens or are the buckets themselves different? and if so how?

US market '02's came with the sealed beam headlight buckets. Most everyone including myself would use the Hella or Cibie conversion headlights. These were of the non-sealed variety and used the dual filament h4's. The european market '02's came with the composite lens that was one unit with the bucket. Thats the reason why it fits so flush with the grill. The reflector assembly also adjusts separately from the bucket as well. Also the european buckets use a sealed plastic cover in the nose panel to help keep moisture out. You can actually see the diffrence in the realoem website. Just do a search for european market cars.

BTW Blunt I just bought a pair of rear bumper caps from you off the e-bay store.

Great pics. The black ring buckets were used on the plastic grill cars.

The aluminum frill cars had no ring.
