1) You will get lots of answers to this one. 2002haus and aardvarc are probably the most popular with the fewest issues

2) I have the 40-40. You will have to play around with jets, the last one I bought around '95 came with 180 main/185 air/60 idle. I think I am running 170 main /175 air/60 idle right now.

I'm not going to say who makes the BEST 5-speed conversion because I only have hands on experience with the one I got from Aardvarc that I recently installed. The reason I went with this one was because he provides a very complete package as well as the fact that Dave Varco was so pleasant to deal with that I just felt comfortabe buying from him. The only down side I found to the kit was that the instructions were somewhat slim and had zero pictures. However, twice I got into places that I was unsure what to do and both times I just picked up the phone and called Dave and he walked me right through it. Great customer service, and I haven't regretted the swap for one minute.
