I put on a different radiator and a non off brand tstat i had laying around and bam - no overheating. But I have a coolant leak which appears to be dripping from the exhaust side of the block. While ive been typing, it occured to me that it could be the drain plug on the block. Thank you message board! lol

Old hoses become hard and brittle and will sometimes crack after being handled. Old hose clamps are also known to strip out if overtightened. If you've not had the problem before and since that's what you've changed recently, that's where I'd look.

Hope this helps.

a rusted out freeze plug. The one that you have to pull the motor out to get to. Or it could be a broken through water passage in your block. Just kidding Pat. Sounds like a plug. LOL
