This is a new carb to me. I've never had a web with an electric choke. It does not have water lines - only an electric choke with what appears to be a single male spade connector on the choke mechanism.

I don't know how to hook it up.

My question is...is this supposed to get 12v whenever the ignition is on, or is it connected to a switch or something? Or am I totally misunderstanding how this is supposed to work.

Thanks!!!

That single spade terminal just needs a 12v supply when the car is on. You can run a wire from the + side of the coil - Job done. Beaner7102

You can't (well, shouldn't) run a wire from the coil+ if there is a ballast resistor involved. You will draw too much current through the resistor and lower the voltage at the coil and the choke will take longer to disengage. If you connect to the supply side of the resistor, that would be OK.

On a 2002, any solid green wire will be ignition-switched 12V and is suitable for powering your electric choke.
