in the orange translucent fuel line under the rear seats there are air bubbles. the tube flows away from the tank but the buble go the opposite way, very confusing when looking at it. the cars been running like it has a fuel problem and when i rev it high i smell the fuel in the cabin. should i be worried about the air bubbles?

No. And check for fuel leaks.

Two running things. Two broken things.

The plastic line is a fuel return line on a tii, so the flow is towards the gas tank.

You need to spend some time looking for the gas leak...it can be extremely dangerous. Leaks in the engine compartment and trunk can also be smelled in the cabin so look everyone until you find it.

I would look closely at the fuel tank outlet line to the elctric pump it seems the only place you might inhale air bubbles, everything after the pump is under 30 pounds of pressure and would leak out.

Don't worry about the world ending today,

Hell it's already tomorrow in Australia.

im looking in a chilton here and it says that this is the excess fuel dump line. i dont see why it would matter if there was any air in it though, unless there is a crack somewhere and air in seeping in, where is that line located when under the engine compartment? im trying to tack it down

The line pops out in the middle of the engine compartment just above the tranny. There are two lines there, one is fuel return (hose coming from the back of the injection pump) the other is vapor recovery (hose going to the air canister).

The bubbles aren't necessarily a problem--I've never looked at mine to see if there are any--but it doesn't really seem like there should be bubbles. At idle there should be a fairly heavy, consistent flow coming from the injection pump.
