Sorry to detract from those sold on the forum, but I found this one locally for only $14.

I just noticed it hangin on the wall at the local import parts store, and saw that it pretty much matched up. I grabbed it and the parts store guy said "You got a VW too?" I said nope, but it looks the same as mine.

It matched up perfectly, and came with gasket, and two allen bolts with the proper threads and lengths. It was a pain removing the old studs, but a tight jam nut got it off.

The brand name is 'Empi' and part number is 31-3011-0.

I also took an hour or two to polish my valve cover for the fun of it, and added a coolant tank.

Pics are all in this folder:

It was gettin dark so it doesn't show up very well, tried with and without flash. I basically used 80 grit sandpaper, then 120, then 400, then 00 steel wool with mother's metal polish. If I had a DA air sander with polishing pad, it'd be bright and shiny.

But that was a fun freebie mod for a little bit of elbow grease.

do you have a part #

It says it right below the pic, Empi is based in Anaheim and their part number is 31-3011-0 "Billet fuel pump block-off." It was $13.95 here, but prices may be a few bucks lower on mainland.

Not quite as fancy as the Empi part, but these are what I've been using:

11 12 1 254 991 fuel pump blanking plate, List $5.10

These have actually dropped in price slightly -- six years ago they listed for $5.70. You should get a Dealer to give you 20% discount off of the list price.

All day long. If anyones looking for me email me and I can purchase some and ship them off.

If more power is better then way too much is just enough.

thats pretty nice. i got one for free cuz my dad is an engineer at a shipping yard who makes all the steel parts to build bridges, and they have bunches of left over material so i made a template and one of the fabricaters cut out some quarter inch steel, i drilled the holes, painted it and got a free part.

I thought about the DIY before, and had friends with machine shops, but it was too much hassle. Then you'd have a challenge trying to make it look 'factory' quality. I've just left the dead pump hangin on there for a while. Was gonna order an FAQ one, but thought I'd try this one out first.

Come to think of it, I wonder if a VW fuel pump would work on the M10? Not sure why that'd be good in any way. Maybe they're easy to find or cheaper...
