I rebuilt my Solex 38-40PDSI original carburettor for my 1970 2002 last night and slapped her on today. The Weber 34 ICH was on there. What a difference! I could feel more poewer, and smoother excelleration. John Capoccia from Sierra Madre gave the Solex to me. The solex is the purrrfect carb for this car! Im not racin, just cruisin this car as my daily driver, and man does she purr.... Had to tell about the good news :)

That was stock on all '02s through I think 1972. In Europe, they kept 'em for the whole run on stick-shift cars, as they weren't burdened with emissions equipment. It's a great little carb on an '02--mine's still running great after 35 years.

with nothing more over the years than an occasional cleaning and new gaskets...it's even still on its original accelerator pump diaphragm!
