As far as I know, it's not a proper font. but, it could be reproduced as line art pretty easily.

Most companies avoid using an available font (or at least alter one slightly) so as to protect their brand.

again, it could be vectorized. and I suppose I could do it for you.

which is an unusual derivation of Eurostyle that is far more common. If you have access to InDesign, Quark or old Pagemaker software, Eurostyle can be stretched and kerned til' it's sorta close.

Agreed, Eurostile Bold Extended (note spelling) looks about as correct as any regular shop will be able to produce in standard vinyl signage.

There's two very similar fonts that have always looked close to the 2002 badge design:

Eurostile Bold Extended

Microgramma Bold Extended

Sample the numeral 2 in each font at these links:

http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/ef/microgramma/ef-bold-extended/opentype-ps/196499/character/0032/CP2/1/

http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/itfmecanorma/eurostile/extended-bold/win-t1/251972/character/0032/CP2/1/

These two are pretty much interchangeable, if one or the other is not available in the correct version.

Like they said, it's not a real font.

Try "Serpentine" or other extended typeface.

In the past, I've looked at all the other letters and numbers that appear on the BMW cars of the era.

"Bavaria" for example, has a bunch of lower case letters ("b", "a", and "r") that can be copied or traced and reconfigured into other letters ("n", or "w").

"CS", "tii" or "automatic" can be adapted as well.

I used to "hand-draw" things this way when I ws a "sign painter" in the 60s and early 70s.

Cheers!
