Yesterday I finished my installation of inertia-reel seat belts using Bob Hildebrand's techinque. I'm very pleased with the result. Thank you Bob for taking the time to post your article!

If anyone's interested, I've posted photos on:

It was quite a job, took about 10 hours, but I also installed new door seals.

I want to do that to my car someday; I just saved your photos to my hard drive as a reference. Right now I have inertia reels installed using the old mounting points for my Klippans (per one of Mike Self's columns a few years back). It works fine, but I think the angle would be better having the shoulder strap on the B-pillar.

By the way, in the one pic it looked like you have shoulder belts in the rear. Do you?

Very nice work, and a gorgeous car!

Not on the rear. Just put the buckles up there to get them out of the way when I put my seat bench back in. Maybe I'll do that some day.

Got the belts at (ahem) JC Whitney. Just couldn't pull the trigger on $250 each from BMW. These were half that. They're actually pretty nice!!!
