All you would need to convert would be the injection pump, front cover, unique alternator, unique valve cover, Tii distributor, Tii exhaust manifold, injection plenum, injectors, injection lines, throttle body, linkage, air box, Tii booster, wiring, cold start timer, gas tank, rear mounted fuel pump and expansion tank, fuel return line and several other items I've probably overlooked such as the Tii brakes/struts. So yes it is doable. But unless you have the parts on hand or a rusty Tii parts donor it seems like a lot of trouble for 30 horsepower.

I'm 75% complete with saving a rusted out 74 tii with the help of a 76 Southern Cal shell. I'd say you would definately want to have a tii parts car to do a conversion. Other differences are, oil filter adapter with supply for the inj pump, inj pump to block oil drain, front struts and rear trailing arms, calipers

line from the injection pump.

You pretty much need a donor tii engine to do all this. I did it years ago when I foolishly forgot to put antifreeze in the engine and a subsequent hard freeze cracked both the tii head and block. I transferred ALL the tii parts (even pistons) into a 69 long block and still have it 20 years later. Hard lesson learned.

Why don't you go to www.zeebuck.com and look at Zenon's site on how to upgrade to E30 318i EFI. It's easier than converting to a full blown tii engine & you'll get more HP. If you're converting from a non tii to a tii motor you're not concerned about matching numbers....

box- without some work.

The tii fuel system is surprisingly efficient, and

the raised compression helps, too.
