She's been off the road for over a week - should be tuned and ready to haul ass an hour home tonight! We'll see what all the new intake and exhaust can do matched with the new cylinder head. It will also be the first time since ive owned the car (about a month) that all of the gauges work - so hopefully it doesnt run too warm. I think ive got some ideas on how to get the carb to calm down as well. I'll let you guys know how it goes - along with some pictures.

So what all did you have to fix?

Are they the problems that started with a stripped plug hole?

Unfortunately, my car work was moved from tonight to early tomorrow. What happened was this - the car already needed a new clutch, motor mounts, front and rear main seals, ect. The thing happened with the head - so i figured throw on a new head, reseal the entire engine, put on a canon intake and header and a new ansa exhaust, ect. Pulled the motor and tranny - powerwashed the engine bay and transmission tunnel, sorted through all the wiring, reinstalled engine. We hadnt installed the shift tower when we first tried to start the car and somehow the tranny had slipped into 2nd when we had it out. fixed it the next day - car runs great with 135psi on all cylinders cold. sounds damn fine, too. As it turns out about half the parts on the car were rigged in some way - so now after all this i wont be scared to call it a strong well sorted car. The only issues I couldnt address during all this was 1 stuck brake line that is showing wear - the rest were swapped to SS lines. Also, the U joints on the driveshaft are sloppy. i figure ill drop the shaft from my wrecked 76 and call it a day.
