I just bought my 02 recently and the gas pedal was all messed up. It would shift around and bind and cause the throttle to stick and sometimes it would block the throttle. I called maximillion per a suggestion of someone on this forum. They sent me a new pedal and a nylon bushing for it to ride on. I installed it and it worked great but about a week later it was really sticky and bindy. (for a lack of better words)

I removed the pedal and put a really thin coat of anti-seize on the bottom of the pedal where the nylon bushing rides and now it is slick as a whistle.

I hope this helps someone because the bindy pedal was causing me some fits.

Have a great day,

Mike

..alright - time to jack it up

and get under to lubricate the padal

shaft passing through the pedal box.

Lube the saft return spring at the outside if the box.

Install the missing return spring up on the fire wall.

lubricate the fire wall bushing that's also missing.

There's alot to IT.

If it's the pedal and not the linkage, I'd just take the pedal off. I took mine off almost 20 years ago when it twisted and caused the throttle to hang open. The first time I put it back on, the second time it came out and never went back in. I just push against the rod and I've never missed the pedal.
