Spring pad trick

I just discovered a good replacement for the thin rubber spring pads on the lower end of the front coils. At least with my cut coils this works great. I used a 1 foot lenth of 1/2" ID utility hose, (this is just like heater hose, but smaller) and slid it onto the bottom coil of the spring using some soap solution. On mine this is the end I cut off. It nestles into the lower spring base plate and pads the coil beatifully. Actually seems a better solution to the problem than the OEM item. Works for me anyway.
