how do i get rid of play in steering wheel?

my wheel has a bit of play and its starting to get anoying when im driving, how do i tighten up the steering so there is less or no play?

bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc.

The adjusting screw is on the top of the steering box. It's in the middle of a big locking nut which must be loosened slightly first. Then turn the screw a 1/4 turn clockwise at a time, then tighten the locking nut and test the feel. Over tightening the box will wear it out fast - and rebuilt ones are pricey. Note it will never feel like a modern car. If the adjusting screw is already flush with the nut, you have little or no adjustment left and need to start looking for a new/used/rebuilt box.

If the rest of your front end is loose and worn out, do #3 first as no amount of steering box adjustment will get rid of the play.
