look on ebay. saw a 65amp from a 3201 for about $75. the alternator from early 318 with 80amp also works and has mounting bracket that makes belt adjustment easier. there was a thread on this subject last week.

I'm in the aftermarket parts industry, if you brought a 2002 core to exchange I doubt anyone would notice. just don't bring your core with you when you purchase. bring back the core later in the box, they will look in the box and see a crusty core and most likely be none the wiser.
