Home-made Touring strut brace

I had over 4mm of movement between my rear shock towers just from jacking up the car on different sides. Something had to be done!

So I bought a welder and learnt on the fly - ugly welds, but they appear strong. Difference is chalk and cheese - unbelievable. The rear suspension now gets to work properly, the ride has improved, the on limit feel has improved, the handling has improved, just about everything is improved.

Fair point, but I've now got a Land Rover Discovery for the dirty work.

Anyway, the day I put rear coilovers on was the end of the Tourings load lugging abilities - too paranoid all those forces would push the suspension through the arches.

It's still OK for skis!
