Problems switching from a 1976 E21 head to a 1972 121 head?

'02 engines are equipped with there won't be any problem. Whay year is your car? We've rebuilt several '75 & '76 2002 engines with E21 cylinder heads...All have had flat top pistons installed stock. In that case you can use whatever head you want.

With the flat top pistons, you're not going to see a performance increase by switching heads. Now if you wanted to put some higher compression thumpers in the bottom end, then you should switch heads...

What's your objective? Just to replace a cracked head? Or one with shot valve guides/seals? In that case use what ever you can find....

But if it's performance you're after, start looking at cams and pistons!

tapped for a mechanical fuel pump, so you'll either have to do the machine work or convert to an electric fuel pump...
