speedo rebuild

My speedo locked up, apparently that's what caused my cable to break. Good thing I checked the speedo before installing the new cable!

Anyone know where to get my speedo repaired or rebuilt? Or should I just get a used one? Someone had suggested checking the Roundel, I didn't get anywhere doing that. Thanks!

Check with North Hollywood Speedometer. They can calibrate and repair ANY VDO gauge - and unlike other rebuilders - they use NEW parts - not crumbling 30yr old bits from "spare" gauges.

Pretty reasonable - and among MY spring projects on my own car!

Alpina KPH speedo designed for 3.45 (?) rear, running with 3.64...maybe 4.10 later ..tired of being 25 mph OFF when driving on hwy. I won't trust it with just anyone.

more importantly - I want my odometer to be accurate - since service records are intact since the 70s on Miss Emily.

My dad sent NHS the speedo assembly from his BMW R75/5 for rebuild... They did an outstanding job, with pretty quick turnaround, too. Looks exactly like factory new.

I talked to them on the phone, they're 110% confident they can fix any VDO speedo. Just send them actual vs. indicated, and they're make it right as well as rehab the entire device!

I'm WAAAY off, measured by GPS, my indicated 80 is more like 62... It's not like I can't pay attention and do the conversion, I just want it to be right!
