G'day All,

This is a bit of a long shot but, has anyone had any dealings with EFIHardware? They make a few bits and pieces and im interested in their throttle bodies.

http://www.speed-technology.com/efi_throttle.html

Would these be suitable for an 02? if so, What size? Are there any other places out there that make bodies that bolt onto weber manifolds other than TWM?

I am also aware that you can get bodies off a bike and use them but a think this may be a bit hard with my lack of welding skills and access to the required equipment.

Any other info would be great also, like peoples experiences with ITB's and whats worked well, etc.

Cheers,

Tom

I like their surge tanks. I serched all over for something like that and found nothing. I had to make my own out of stainless.

Not bad. Do you know how much the ECU and injectors cost(basically the entire set-up to make it run). Is the pricing in Aussie dollars and if so what's the current exchange rate? Thanks for the info!

I had great results from TWM parts. Not cheap, but still cheaper than any other similar parts sourced from Europe. A great engine management I can suggest you look for is the SDSEFI.com kit

Yeh, they seem a fair bit cheaper than TWM and Jenvey...

Im not sure about the ecu and injectors...i figured id probably go with Megasquirt but ill have a look into SDS (thanks lee!) Those prices are AUD so it'll be cheap for you guys...except youve got to factor shipping into that.... Exchange rate:

ECONOMY KIT: $778USD

PRO KIT: $942USD

Lee, what size TB's did you use?

Thanks guys :-)

Now I'm clearly clueless on this subject, but I"ve started digging into the whole ITB deal.

Do you think one of these might work?

"It has adjustable throats to fit any port spacing" it says..

looks kind of similar to the http://www.speed-technology.com ones

They look interesting Z, What id be concered about is how to connect it to the manifold. The speed technology ones are made just to attach straight on... Then again, im fairly clueless about this too! 2002manic made a brilliant set out of TB's off a bike so im sure youd be able to work something out...

oh ya.. thats a good point. I suppose they have to bolt on somehow ;)

I might send a query to those guys and see what they say. Man it sure would be nice to have a fat assed bank account so you could just order stuff and see what it looks like in the flesh.

Keep us informed if you put it all together.. maybe a FAQ is in order !

cheers

Tom - thems big bites... Sounds like a great plan, just dont forget you are breaking new ground in OZ... make sure you choose the right ECU and that there is someone around to tune it for you so you dont end up with a poor performing car that owes you a mint...

Motec, Autronic and microtech are the computers most simplest to tune in OZ - the first two are very expensive though!

I have decided to spend no more money on my motor... except maybe a bit of a freshen up soon... I think the next plan is to do it right from the start with an S14 - that is the best base to work on with mods at least...

I hope you are recruiting all of these people you are talking to for the 2002 drive day in early March!!!
