My fuel filler neck finally cracked enough to let gas out all over the trunk on corners. My car is Daily driven and I won't have another one for a week. I was wondering what people have done to temporarily solve the problem. Thanks Garrett

You really shouldn't drive the car at all until you replace the sleeve, as you're gonna get gas fumes in the trunk, and they'll get into the pax compartment and make you sick, esp if you have speaker cutout holes in your package shelf. But if it's your only car and you're desperate...

Remove the cracked rubber filler pipe and measure diameteer of the metal pipe that's part of the gas tank. Then go to hardware store or plumbing supply shop and find a plastic plumbing pipe cap or plug that will fit. You might have to wrap some tape around it for a snug fit, but I'll bet you'll find something.

Don't forget to drill a small (less than 1/4") hole in the cap/plug so the tank can vent,--try hooking up the existing vent hose to the hole you've drilled... and don't fill the tank all the way up 'till you get a proper rubber sleeve.

But BE CAREFUL--and don't smoke anywhere near that trunk!

Thanks, The problem isn't filling it up, its taking left hand corners. I did find a rubber plumbing hose that fit really well and snug. Definitely not permanent but enough to contain the slosh, Thanks Garrett
