windsheild replacement

i am FINALLY going to send my 76 in for body and paint, and I had a couple questions about the windshield (actually front AND back).

1. Does any glass company carry glass for an 02, or will I need to special order it?

2. How about the seal - would the glass company have the seal or will I need to provide it?

Even if the glass company said they could provide the seals, I think I would get those myself, just to be SURE they are correct.

I can get you those seals. i will echo the importance of oem seals. that crap you see on ebay thats half price is half price for a reason

Ill get you an oem windshield at the same time since youre local. you can swing by and snatch it

I second that... again. Took me 5 minutes to install the glass up front with an oem seal, took 3 of us at least 3 hours to get the rear glass in with an aftermarket seal, and it doesn't look quite as it should either. Lesson learned.

As far as glass goes, I got lucky in the scrapyard. For new, I'd probably track down my own if it was feasible, as I imagine there would be a few more dollars spent if the glass company tracked it down for you. But you never know.

Thailand"! seals unsuccessfully before they listened to me and got an OEM one from Max--in the first try. Same for the backlight.
