W & N selling trap mirror (left only) for around $133 + shipping.

Maybe it will be obtainable thru' the Dealers here soon?

AND what about the right side mirror for those of us with a correct-hand drive?

haven't seen 'em yet. Good news about the early mirrors, tho, Timmer, since they'll fit both sides and are difficult to find in good condition due to pitted pot metal and/or bad mirror glass.

Shameless plug, but lets set the facts straight. The left side is currently NLA from BMW with no plans of reproduction yet as per MT Munich. We have the trap. 74-76 left side mirror in stock for $118.80 and the right side for $112.86.

Just to set the record straight, Max, the '74 models (#4225509 pictured here in 1975) came with the trapezoid mirror as standard.

Pictures from the '74 brochure indicate the "trap" mirror for 1974 as well.

Cheers!

You have the trapezoidal mirror? Prize please?

Basically the trap mirror was phased out in favour of the flag mirrors in '74. My Touring (UK) was manufactured Nov '73 and had trap mirrors. I guess they used up stock so some '74s had trap mirrors and the majority had flag mirrors.

I wouldn't hazard a guess re: a possible change to the newer flag style mirrors before the end of the 1974 model year.

My '74 2002 in the picture was built before July, 1974, so I can't refute your claim about "the majority of the model run."

However, I do have two confirmed sources showing the trapezoidal mirrors used on 1974 USA models.

Nice car, BTW.

Cheers!
