I have a mystery that I need to solve. I think at one time my car was setup for eiher vintage racing or autocross. I know what the engine is, and suspect the suspension has been modified as well b/c of the handling it does have. I want to know more though. what can I measure to see what sort of sway bar mm I have as well as springs and shocks. I don't see any notation or part numbers on anything. Yet the springs and front and rear sway bars are all yellow. Any help would be appreciated.

swaybars are easy - measure diameter with caliper. As for where they came from i'd start with the PO.

Springs. look for ID, tag, something or anything to give you a clue - contact PO

Are bushings urethane or rubber? some urethane is black so don't assume if it's not red it's rubber.

do you have strut bars?

do you have camber plates?

what is your ride height like? is it stock or low? it's easy to take a can of Krylon to anything - including suspension parts.

what type of shocks/struts do you have? billy struts will be fat up top because they are inverted. should be yellow with blue logos on the rear and the front you can only know if you break down your front end - consult PO.

start with records and PO that's usually a sure bet

the yellow suspension was there when I bought it. Always was a mystery. the PO when I bought it the first time had no idea, he bought it from a lady whose husband drove it. thanks for the compliments, I love it being back in the stable, just trying to figure some things out about it. I'll check the ride height, as for bushings they are rubber and I've been wondering if they were just painted or maybe the stock springs were cut. I do have a strut bar, no notation on what it is either. I measured the spring when I had the car lifted and it was about 9" long don;t know if that means anything or not. What is stock ride height?
