Hey Guys,

Thought some of you might be interested to see what we've been working on up here lately. Had a request for a DIY upholstery kit for an original 72 seat, but the original saddle vinyl is now NLA. Sooooo, we got a little creative, and dipped into the parts bin from that other German automaker, Mercedes-Benz. They used a very similar colour in the 70's, including a basketweave pattern. The pattern is more round than rectangular, but the colour is nice, and very few people will ever notice the difference in pattern.

that looks pretty good. do you have a color for the non-woven portion with a little more orangish-reddish tint to it to match the existing door panels? what you're showing appears alittle more brownish/tan than the panels. with a complete front and backseat redone this could look good. with judicious choice of the smooth vinyl color, it could tie the slight mismatch to OEM color, together.

in other words, i wouldn't be too concerned with matching the MB basketweave color so much as trying to match the BMW doorpanel color, closer.
