Interesting lower steering column. It looks like it attaches to a regular box, not a rack. I wonder what the advantage of that is?

I think it was a one off fab'd unit. What's going on with the braded lines just ending above the column? Almost looks like some photoshop stuff goin on there. Also no brake and clutch stuff. Could it be some sort of right hand drive car with a chane drive to drive a close ratio box from the other side?
