My '76 was purported to have come with a "new" Weber 32/36. However, after trying to perform some adjustments (futilely), and consulting another '02 buddy, we're pretty sure this thing is no Weber.

If you look at the pics, it appears that the make and model of the carb has actually been machined off the side. Has anyone else seen one of these? Is this some sort of cheapo factory second or something? Because that would explain a lot.

I won't even speculate on the mental capacity of the "mechanic" who installed the thing. I'm pretty sure the snapped-off tension bolt for the manual choke cable is a bad sign, though...

Anyway, any info you guys could provide would be helpful. I'm thinking of ditching this thing anyway, and bolting on a pair of side draft Dell'ortos... What's the difference between the DCOEs and the DHLAs? TIA-

i've got a holley carb sitting in a box of stuff that came with an 02. it looks a lot like the Weber. there's a Holly intake manifold on ebay i'd been watching but the price got too high for my curiosity. anything special about a Holly carburetor on an 02?

the Holly-Webers looked almost identical to the "real" Webers and the jets would interchange--used on 2.3 liter Ford engines in (shudder) Pintos and Fairmonts--but it made jets easy to buy. If your carb jets are different from a Weber, it's not a Holly-Weber. And it's been a long time since an American car used a manual choke...wonder if it's something Japanese...Nissan and Honda were still using manual chokes into the 70s; don't know about Toyota...

The carb is called a Webcon. Sold by Redline Weber via World Pac/Car Quest Parts. When the Weber was out of production this was one of the carbs that came to the market to cover the demand. The installation requires removal of material in the intake manifold much like that for a 38/38 Weber.

I have been running this set-up for almost a year; 1. It is not as quiet, at idle it sounds like a 32-mm vacuum leak. 2. I am undefeated in our local Auto-X series.

With the carb properly set-up it is a great, but I have no idea as to the possible MPG.

To tell the truth I don't care, I'm having to much fun with my right foot planted on the floor.

Awesome. Thanks for all the replies! The main problem with the carb at this point, I think, is that whoever installed it just yanked it out of the box and bolted into the car. The car actually runs good (I drove it home from Memphis to OKC last weekend WFO a good part of the way!), but it won't idle unless the choke is at least partially open. And, the choke doesn't work so well in and off itself, so it's been kind of a pain.

Is there some sort of guide to follow in rejetting this carb? Do the suppliers you mentioned carry spares? Thanks again-
