I'm replacing my current Weber 38 with my old 32/36DGV and and have a couple questions. Stock, original '76 motor, with Crane ign.

It's jetted to the famous CD's Rx.

I plugged the enrichment hole with a toothpick cause I'm chicken to do a permanent plug at this point.

Boy, the acceleration punch of the 38 is gone!

But, it does seem smoother around town, and that's where I do most of my driving.

With a 32/26, at about what rpm do the main jets start to have an effect?

I looks like you really have to floor the pedal to get the secondary to open. Has anyone found a way to get the secondary to open a bit earlier?

BTW, I tried the full synchronous Sync-Link kit and wasn't impressed.

I still think that a synchronous 34/34 would be perfect for a stock motor.

Thanks for any pointers.

Mike

I felt as though I was wearing out the throttle linkage with the 32/36! Always the 38/38 over the 32/36.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

Any idea what larger idle jets would do to your Rx?

More low-end, or just too rich?

How did you come by your suggestion to plug the secondary enrichment port?

And, why would Weber put it there?

Thanks for your help,

Mike
