i've got a one piece uncracked dash that came with a box of parts from the po that i'm debating selling. i'm wondering about the year irt came from and i'm also curious because the control knobs around the gauge cluster include one for foglamps and one for rear defogger. i know i've read/seen this before but i can't remember what it told me (touring?) help . . .

seatbelt/thermal reactor service warning lights atop the dash center are from USA squarelights. Foglights were always options on squarelights (dealer installed in the US); that switch was a dummy on US cars. Rear window defoggers were theoretically optional on US squarelights, but Max ordered 'em all with that option (the non-optional option).

The first 02s (up thru early 71, I think) had three piece dashes (upper, lower and instrument binnacle); modell 71 cars (mid-71-end of roundie production in 73) had two piece dashes (upper and lower). With some minor tweaking, they more or less interchange.

Hope that helps; they'll be plenty of folks who'd love to find an uncracked dash, incidentally...

at least for now I'm too lazy to pull the dash and replace my cracked ones. I consider the cracks to be "patina"--that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
