my friend Danny is in town and hasnt yet seen my 02.

I remember him telling me, that he and his buddy had been on the autobahn in the 70s. They were driving a Corvette and were flying down the road.

Then this bmw flys by, they speed up cuz theres no way this "mom dad and the kids" car was gonna pass THEM by. So they sped up to catch up. Apparently this bmw was going over 100 and they trashed out the Corvette trying to keep up with the beemer. Broke an axle and smoked the engine. I'm guessing it is the 02 he was racing against. Considering the time period he said it was.

So I get to say "Is this the car that thrashed your Corvette?"

its fun in my dads e28, because while he doesnt race many people, its just funny to see people in like e46 m3's, porsche 944s, slower 911's, and like ferrari 308s etc etc, that think theyre hot shit in theyre "super cars" and dont know that the boxy black thing from the 80s could demolish theyre overzealous styled "exotic"( most of the time the m5 is rarer as well). we just laugh when they see the badge and try to race

don't forget that there were a few 645 turbos imported back then. I was going flat out (95 to 101) down the main straightaway of Castle Rock once during a driver's school and had a 645 go by me doing about 145. Made me want to step out and grab a lemonaid.
