Finally got some long waited parts! 3 stage dry sump pump and tank from Pace Products UK. Alcon race clutch dia 7,25" =184mm. The disk is about 2,5mm thick, quite light I'd say. Should be a bit easier for the synchros.

Cost: "Hell of a lot more than too much!"

Since last time I have made about half of wiring, fitted oil tank, started making oil pan, almost fitted the pump and started working with flywheel. So nothing finished but alot going on.

Slow progress. That crazy expensive clutch slave cylinder is installed. Only bought it because it was the easy way. Rear end is now put together. Trunk floor is made of kevlar honeycomb sheet that's used as aeroplane floor. Piece of that size weighs about same as a postcard :-) Air can now flow quite freely from under the car as the rear panel is cut. Still some work to do with wiring. Then oil system, exhaust, cooling, etc.

1:00 am - It's running!!! Winter holiday well used, 8 days 10-13 hours/day in carage. Not finished but running ;-)) First track test at Wednesday if all goes well.

Well, it didn't start that well. I was only able to run 2,5 laps. I had drained battery too much and we thought alternator was bad. Actually it wasn't but that took the time. There was other problems as well but now they should be fixed for next Wednesday. I sure wish to get some more laps because it comes a bit expensive to run two laps for 50 euro track fee + 100km travel.

Sorry that the last week assembling work was not reported yet. I got the bearings for engine at friday and worked 8 days. Not much time to take pics but here's some.

Second test was already better. I gained about 30 laps without any major problems. Charging is not powerful enough but it didn't stop driwing as we charged battery during the breaks. Rear axle needs some modification because camber adjustment is not on the right area. I need to move swinging arm mounting points but it may take till after the first race. Lambda showed lean mixture at WOT so I used only 3/4 of throttle but got some taste of corner speeds, braking etc. There's still a lot to do but overall feeling is good now.

Wednesday carbs will be set at dyno. Sunday is BMW Club Finland track day when I should get taste of full speed.

Yesterday was dyno day. There was a clear reason for lean mixture at high rpm. Quote from the wizard "No wonder - these air jets are crazy big".

After few runs and changing couple of jets he got it working very well and the result was about 200 hp / 230 Nm. Torque stays between 225 and 230Nm from 4000 to 7200 rev limit. He also said he doesn't remember measuring that high power with only 36 mm throats! I'm quite pleased :-D

Power increase from last time was about 30 hp's without actually opening the engine. Changes were double 45's instead of one with Lynx manifold, dry sump, moving alternator to rear axle and electric water pump.
