BMW 2002 Restoration Guide, by Mike McCartney, from the faq store.

I second that...McCartney's a must. You'll also want a Haynes manual. They're available at some import parts stores and the big on line book stores.

The factory shop manual is available on CD from BMW. Lesser quality ones area available on eBay and other places for much less.

Mike McCartney's book will point you in the right direction. Some of the stores in Seattle & San Francisco are reporting that it is now hard to come by.

Haines is very good for the point by point instruction.

All of that coupled with this site (which offers much more than either of the books) will take you as far as you can go.

McCartneys book and Haynes manuals have both been reported hard to come by. Word is the usual importer is not bringing them in, except only if the buyer wants a hundred copies or so.

If Mike Macartney's Restoration Guide is getting hard to get in the States, we always have loads here in the Uk (well my Boss' dad did write the book before he retired from Jaymic) at £15.95

They are also published by "Brooklands Books" over here.

Haynes seem easy to get here also, but a bit pricey (£25) since someone told them the car is a classic. It used to be half that price a while ago.
